§ 20-1. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Family swimming pool means a swimming pool used or intended to be used solely by the owner or lessee thereof and his family, and by friends invited to use it without payment of any fee.

    Plumbing means any and all piping or systems for maintaining a supply of water, removal of wastewater or recirculation of water pertaining to swimming pools.

    Public pool means any swimming pool other than a family pool and including, among others, swimming pools at private clubs, commercial pools, tourist court and hotel pools, and all pools where an admission fee is charged or where any activity for profit is carried on.

    Swimming pool or pool means any constructed pool used for swimming or bathing with water depths exceeding eighteen (18) inches, or with water surface exceeding two hundred (200) square feet.
