§ 8-249. Education and information.

The City of Neptune Beach will cooperate with the FDEP and/or a private not-for-profit organization in preparing and distributing brochures to coastal establishments and residents and making presentations about the effects of light on endangered sea turtle reproduction and about sea turtle biology, generally. The city shall notice first time violators of the sea turtle lighting ordinance by sending a letter, certified mail, return receipt requested, to the offender describing their violation and enclosing a brochure and summary of the ordinance. Subsequent offenses will be treated with enforcement measures as described in section 8-250.
