§ 8-35. Mechanical fees.

The following permit fees are imposed and assessed and shall be paid at the time of the making of an application for a permit for the work or service, installation, or construction hereinafter described:

For issuing each permit ..... $ 35.00

Air conditioning and refrigeration (total capacity in single installation), each dwelling, apartment or business being considered a separate system, for each ton of capacity of fractional part thereof:

a.

For one (1) to ten (10) tons (per ton) ..... 11.00

b.

For each ton over ten (10) tons or fractional part thereof up to twenty-five (25) tons (per ton) ..... 6.60

c.

For each ton over twenty-five (25) tons or fractional part thereof (per ton) ..... 5.50

Furnaces and heating equipment (total capacity in single installation) for each dwelling, apartment or business:

a.

For the first two hundred thousand (200,000) BTU an hour capacity or fractional part thereof ..... 22.00

b.

For each additional fifty thousand (50,000) BTU an hour input or thereof ..... 11.00

c.

Burner (not in heating system), each ..... 8.80

For the first two thousand (2,000) cubic feet a minute capacity of air handled in duct system ..... 16.50

For each one thousand (1,000) cubic feet a minute over two thousand (2,000) cubic feet or fractional part thereof up to ten thousand (10,000) cubic feet a minute ..... 6.60

For each additional 1,000 cubic feet a minute or fraction thereof ..... 4.40

For mechanical permits not listed above, the fee shall be based on seven dollars ($7.00) per one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of the cost of project.

Inspection: For additional inspections or reinspections, there will be a thirty-five dollar ($35.00) charge in addition to the fees listed above.
