§ 2-306. Social security benefits extended to city personnel.

  • It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the city to extend, effective as of October 1, 1955, to the employees and officials, not excluded by law nor excepted herein, the benefits of the system of old age and survivors' insurance as authorized by the federal Social Security Act, which means the Act of Congress approved August 14, 1935, Chapter 531, 49 Stat. 620, officially cited as the Social Security Act (including regulations and requirements issued pursuant thereto), as such act has been and may from time to time be amended, and by F.S. Ch. 650, as such chapter has been and may from time to time be amended; and to cover by such plan all services which constitute employment, as defined in F.S. § 650.02, performed in the employ of the city by employees and officials thereof.
