§ 20-20. Inspections.

  • Pool inspection shall be requested by the permit holder and made by the city inspectors as follows:

    (1)

    The building inspector shall inspect the installation of all wet and dry niche pool lights, pump motors and other electrical equipment or devices. All electrical work shall be performed by a licensed electrician under an electrical permit issued by the building inspector and shall conform with the city electrical code.

    (2)

    The building inspector shall inspect the installation of all plumbing.

    (3)

    The building inspector, or his delegate, shall inspect all reinforcing, before any concrete is poured, the fence, and any roof or enclosure.

    (4)

    The building inspector, or his delegate, shall make final inspection on family pools, at which time the following requirements shall have been met:

    a.

    Each pool shall have a test set for pH and chlorine residual with necessary indicator reagents.

    b.

    Each pool shall have a waterproof instruction sheet conspicuously posted at the control station showing the following:

    1.

    Complete instructions regarding filter operation, backwash and the requirements for pool sanitation.

    2.

    Instructions regarding use of disinfecting agents, such as chlorine.

    3.

    General instruction regarding the use of chemicals.
