§ 17-31. Permit.

  • No person, either alone or jointly with another, shall conduct a garage sale or do any act described in sections 17-27, 17-28 or 17-29 of this article without having first obtained a permit so to do from the city manager. The permit may be issued on-site by any police officer. Every person, unless exempted from license fees by subsection 21-47(b), shall, prior to conducting a garage sale, file with the city manager an affidavit stating that all personal property advertised for sale, displayed or offered for sale at a garage sale conducted or to be conducted by him is his own personal property (or of such neighbor as permitted herein), was acquired and used by him or members of his family on or in connection with the premises occupied by such person, and that the same was not acquired or consigned to him for the sale or principal purpose of resale.
